The Sailing Club founded in 1886 required extension extension to provide modern facilities for an increased membership. With a very limited budget a steel frame was constructed and clad in Cape Cod clapperboard.

The new building, which provides first floor dining and a balcony, was designed to compliment the existing whilst maintaining its historic integrity.
